Both knife sets are high quality knife sets, but the biggest difference is the way the Grand Prixs fit, they are made for people with bigger hands. Another difference is how sturdy they Grand Prix feels compared to the Shun Classic, but I prefer the lighter weight to the sturdy feel.
One of the least talked about features of the Shun Classic set is that they are also made for left handers, most knife sets are only made for right handed people, finding the left handed set though is going to take some extra work. For those who are looking for a high quality knife set that is also pleasing to look at the Shun Classic is the perfect choice, even with the higher price tag.
